Collingwood Arts Center

The Collingwood Arts Center is home for many artists in Northwest Ohio, and creatively serves their needs for supportive services, collaboration, studios, exhibition space, and residential areas in a dormitory style environment. A community in the true sense of the word, the CAC also houses for rental a 600 seat theatre for stage, chamber music, jazz, dance, and community initiated productions.  For theatre rental details, contact the Executive Director of the facility.

The building is 113,000 square feet and is divided into 4 sections: Gerber House, Theatre wing, Dorm wing, and Studio wing. Gerber House, built in 1876, has parlors for meetings and exhibitions. The Theatre wing houses the theatre and several 400 square foot studios, while the Dorm wing holds residential space ranging from small rooms of about 100 square feet to doubles about 200 square feet. The Studio wing has visual art and music studios for rent ranging from 200 square feet to 800 square feet. Rental pricing ranges from $75 a month to $350 a month.

We provide an 900 square foot "community room" on the first floor for use by members of the CAC. In the basement is a full kitchen, laundry room, wood working area for making frames, and meeting space for residents. On the second floor is an internet lab with high-speed internet access for use by residents, and a photographic darkroom is set for completion in the summer of 2004. Some studios have internet access through our LAN at a nominal charge.
